    Itinerary

Do you ever wonder what life was like as a citizen in Ancient Rome? Or how the gladiators spent their days inside and outside the Colosseum? Or simply what it was like to walk inside the world's most beautiful amphitheatre or along the Roman Forum?

These questions and many others you may have will be answered by our in-person tour with a specialised guide dedicated to you!

Avoid the stress of booking and get rid of long waits with our 'skip the line ticket' to the Colosseum. You will be accompanied from the start to the end of the visit, and we guarantee that all health and safety instructions will be respected for all participants.

    Itinerary

The great Roman Empire is one of the most exciting topics in history and still part of school books today! The Romans invaded lands and places near and far, importing and often imposing their culture and traditions. The evidence of this greatness can still be seen all over the world, especially in the countries surrounding Italy.

But Rome alone encompasses many of the artistic beauties bequeathed to us by its ancient people. As you begin the tour, you will find yourself walking on the same stones that were trodden by the ancient Romans, to reach the heart of the magnificent Flavian Amphitheatre Theatre, known to most as the 'Colosseum'! Your guide will accompany you on a journey in which you will discover anecdotes and stories about how the Roman people enjoyed their leisure time and how they admired the Gladiators, appreciating their long fights against wild animals or big, fearful opponents!

We will then continue towards the Palatine Hill and, right in front of your nose, you will find a very special place where you can still relive the legend that gave life to our Capital, the original place where the story of Romulus and Remus came to life almost 3000 years ago! From here you can enjoy a spectacular view that will leave you in ecstasy.
Next you will cross the Roman Forum, also known as the 'Forum Magnum', the beating heart of ancient Rome, made up of buildings related to politics and religion that manifested the grandeur of Rome. It was the place where daily life was noisy, the streets always filled with people from different classes and backgrounds, such as the military, politicians who spread their ideas with speeches to the people before elections, or the vestals (priestesses consecrated to the Goddess Vesta) whose job was to prepare ingredients for the sacrifices of men in trial.

Walking along the Via Sacra, you will find yourself at the point from which you could witness the return of money from the many battles fought in defense of the great empire. Continuing the walk you will arrive at the Basilica Aemilia, a 'rare pearl' as the only civil basilica in Rome belonging to the Republican era. There are only a few ruins from that period, in fact its present appearance is quite different from its original one due to the many restorations it underwent during the imperial era. Not far away you will see the 'Temple of Janus', a sanctuary whose entrance was a double arch. Considered the oldest and most important place of worship of the Roman deity, Janus, protector of entrances and beginnings. The peculiarity of this building is that we find a trace of it only on a Nero coin. At the end of our visit to the Forum, we find ourselves in front of the Arch of Septimius Severus. The arch, built between 202 and 203, is named after the emperor and dedicated to him and his two sons, Caracalla and Geta. In addition to the beauty of this arch, it is interesting to note its functionality: it served as a 'barrier' for chariots thanks to some steps built under the archways, thus ensuring only pedestrian passage.

To discover other secrets of the heart of ancient Rome and to fully experience the sensations of those times, you only have to let your guide take you back in time and tell you facts and curiosities about our ancestors.

Step back in time with us and book your place to experience ancient Rome like never before!
