Our tour guide got us close to the Pope for his ride around the audience. Check in took long though as we were ushered to another line on another block and had to wait a second time in a long line to get through security. Even with the delay, we got to sit on the chairs in the section behind reserved guests and didn’t miss the audience or Pope’s Blessing. We had an excellent vantage point to take the Pope’s picture during his ride around- see photo attached. It was worth the price of the tickets for us given how close we were to the Pope during his quick ride around the vast audience. It lasted just a moment, but it’s a moment we will never forget.

Itinerary

Tour duration: 4.5 hours.

This tour takes out the stress of planning a visit to Vatican City. Your professional guide will share stories about the unique history of the Vatican. They'll also ensure that you see the Pope and make the most of your morning attending the audience. Every week thousands of people visit the Vatican to hear the Pope speak during Wednesday’s General Audience. If the weather is nice, the audience takes place in the spectacular St Peter's Square. If it's raining or cold, the meeting happens in the Paul VI Hall inside the Vatican. This modern auditorium was designed by the Italian architect Pier Luigi Nervi in 1971.

After checking-in and meeting your guide, you will walk to the Vatican via the quaint alleys and corners of the Borgo. The cobblestone streets of Rome's "14th neighborhood" next to St. Peter's Square are laden with history and have been home to Popes and famous artists. You'll then find yourself in St. Peter's Square and take in its majesty and atmosphere.

Although the tickets are free, bookings are required weeks in advance, and the process can be difficult. This is where we’re ready to help out. We'll hand you the pre-booked tickets and your guide will get you there in time to find a good place to see the Pope. You may even hold his hand as he walks among the audience and heads toward his seat on the stage. At this unique event, the Pope gives the main address in Italian followed by a summary or greeting in at least eight languages.

Book with us early to make sure you don't miss out. And we won't leave you alone. After the audience, your tour guide will meet you in via della Conciliazione, close to St Peter's Square.
