Who We Are
Gray Line I Love Rome is the largest provider of sightseeing bus tours in Rome. Since 2016 our pink I Love Rome – City Tour Hop-on hop-off buses have been seen all around Rome.
We’re part of Carrani Tours which was founded in 1925 by Mr Benedetto De Angelis who wanted to provide visitors with guided tours to Rome. Carrani Tours were the second authorised tour operator and the first bus tour operator in Rome, so we think our founder would be more than happy the popularity of our pink buses.
From these early beginnings, we have built a network of tours in and around Rome, with exclusive partnerships with the Vatican Museums and Colosseum. We also provide tours to major destinations such as Capri, Pompeii, Tivoli, Sorrento, Florence, Assisi and Venice.
In 2014 Carrani Tours was selected by the Gray Line group as its exclusive tour operator for Rome. For more than 100 years, Gray Line has been creating and operating the best traveller experiences in popular destinations around the world. This partnership makes us part of the largest provider of sightseeing tours on the planet.
We’re still owned by the founding family and employ over 110 people, including over 13 multi-lingual guides.

But that’s just our story. Travel is about your experience, so here’s what some of our guests have said about touring with Gray Line I Love Rome.
"Matej was an excellent guide, able to guide us through the annals of Rome He was an avid shade-acquirer which was beneficial to those who require shade to enjoy their tours. I personally would never throw shade on Matej, as he was a shining light on our day. 10/10."

"Pompeii is a fantastic place with an incredible story; a must-see for anyone visiting Rome! The tour leaves early in the morning and includes a hotel pick-up. You will be offered a panoramic tour of Naples with a splendid view of the sea and Mount Vesuvius. The next is a delicious lunch of pizza with drinks and desserts, so it's in Pompeii. The tour itself is super informative: you'll learn everything you always wanted to know and more! Later you will have free time to buy souvenirs or enjoy an ice cream. Return to Rome around 8:00 pm, you will need to find your way back to your hotel. I had no problem calling a taxi. If you love ancient history, this tour is for you!"

"I’ve taken other cooking courses in Rome over the years, but this one far surpasses anything I’ve ever taken before. The variety of foods prepared, three pastas, meats, vegetables, and desserts were not only varied but delicious and the chef was extremely attentive. You start out by going to the market and deciding what you want to eat, and then everything is purchased and we walk back to a luxurious place to cook. This is a wonderful course to take. The location is not just an apartment but a real cooking school and the setting is outstanding. Well worth the time and modest cost."
